COSMETOLOGY OPERATOR TO CLASS A BARBER

WHAT YOU'LL LEARN

Already a state licensed cosmetologist but want to up your hair, beard, and mustache game? If you've got the drive to take your skills to the next level we're here to help you get there.  At Michael's Barber & Hair Stylist Academy we'll teach you how to get even better at what you love by bringing you from a Cosmetologist to a Barber.

This course is great for those already licensed as cosmetology operators in the state of Texas who want to be licensed Class A Barbers.

THEORETICAL STUDY

Theoretical study (25 clock hours) trains the students who hold a Cosmetology operator license in the State of Texas to provide the services of a Barber. The subjects covered include History of Barbering, Shaving, Men’s Haircutting and Tapering, Beard and Mustache Trimming and Design, and Hair Color Review.

 

This portion of the course also includes:

  • History of Barbering

  • Barber Laws and Rules Review

  • Implements, Honing, and Stropping

  • Shaving

  • Men’s Haircutting and Tapering

  • Beard and Mustache Trimming and Design

  • Hair Color Review

  • Permanent Waving and Relaxing Review

  • Manicuring and Nail Care Review

  • Facial Treatments and Skin Care Review

  • Anatomy and Physiology Review

  • Blow-dry Styling Review

This course fully trains individuals who hold a Cosmetology operator license in the State of Texas to provide the services of a Barber.

PRACTICAL STUDY

During the practical portion of the course (275 clock hours), students receive hands-on instruction in:

  • Men’s Haircutting and Tapering

  • Shaving, Mustache and Beard Trimming

  • Hair Coloring

  • Permanent Waving and Relaxing

  • Facial Treatments

  • Shampooing and Conditioning and Blow-dry Styling

  • Manicuring
